Special Interschools’ Message From Our Prefects

This is an incredibly special time of year not only for the learners involved but for ๐™ค๐™ช๐™ง ๐™ฉ๐™ค๐™ฌ๐™ฃ ๐™–๐™จ ๐™– ๐™ฌ๐™๐™ค๐™ก๐™š.

We are fortunate enough to be able to participate in this event after two years of not being able to have interschools due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.

The 2022 Union High School Prefect body wishes to encourage all the sportsmen and -women to give it their all on the field this weekend.

Interschools Captains

Perhaps nowhere is the importance of ๐—š๐—ข๐—ข๐—— ๐—Ÿ๐—˜๐—”๐——๐—˜๐—ฅ๐—ฆ๐—›๐—œ๐—ฃ as apparent as in a sports team.
A good sports team captain can lead his team to success and recognition; and can help a moderate team play better; whereas, a weak captain with poor leadership skills can hinder a teamโ€™s chances of competing and bonding successfully.

Junior Hockey
On Saturday, 30 July, Unionโ€™s Junior hockey teams travelled to Gqeberha to participate in St Dominicโ€™s Priory Schoolโ€™s Winter Sports Festival.
Despite the icy temperatures and occasional rain, the girls gave a very good account of themselves.
Unionโ€™s 1st Junior Hockey Team
Unionโ€™s ๐—œ๐—ฆ๐—ง ๐—๐—จ๐—ก๐—œ๐—ข๐—ฅ๐—ฆ beat Prioryโ€™s u/13As 6-0
Unionโ€™s ๐Ÿฎ๐—ก๐—— ๐—๐—จ๐—ก๐—œ๐—ข๐—ฅ๐—ฆ beat Prioryโ€™s u/13C side 1-0, lost to Prioryโ€™s u/13A side 0-1 and drew with Prioryโ€™s u/13B side 0-0.
Unionโ€™s ๐Ÿฏ๐—ฅ๐—— ๐—๐—จ๐—ก๐—œ๐—ข๐—ฅ๐—ฆ drew both their matches 0-0 against Prioryโ€™s u/13B side and u/13C side respectively.
