As of Tuesday, 11 October, Union High School boasts probably the most modern science classroom in the Eastern Cape.
The recently refurbished classroom was unveiled to learners and staff at the start of the 4th term and, going forward, will help create many a โwow momentโ in education for Unionโs learners.
As the schoolโs Physical Sciences classroom and laboratory was decades old, ๐ ๐ฅ๐ง๐ค๐๐๐๐ฉ ๐ฌ๐๐จ ๐๐ฃ๐๐ฉ๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ ๐๐ฉ ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐จ๐ฉ๐๐ง๐ฉ ๐ค๐ ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐ฎ๐๐๐ง, ๐ฉ๐ค ๐๐ง๐๐๐ฉ๐ ๐ ๐๐ก๐๐จ๐จ๐ง๐ค๐ค๐ข ๐ฉ๐๐๐ฉ ๐ฌ๐๐จ ๐ฃ๐ค๐ฉ ๐ค๐ฃ๐ก๐ฎ ๐ซ๐๐จ๐ช๐๐ก๐ก๐ฎ ๐จ๐ฉ๐๐ข๐ช๐ก๐๐ฉ๐๐ฃ๐, ๐๐ช๐ฉ ๐๐๐จ๐๐๐ฃ๐๐ ๐๐ฃ ๐จ๐ช๐๐ ๐ ๐ฌ๐๐ฎ ๐ฉ๐๐๐ฉ ๐ก๐๐๐ง๐ฃ๐๐ง๐จ ๐ฌ๐๐ก๐ก ๐ฌ๐๐ฃ๐ฉ ๐ฉ๐ค ๐ก๐๐๐ง๐ฃ ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ฌ๐๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ข๐ค๐ฃ๐จ๐ฉ๐ง๐๐ฉ๐๐ค๐ฃ๐จ ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ฅ๐ง๐๐๐ฉ๐๐๐๐ก๐จ ๐๐๐ฃ ๐๐ ๐๐ค๐ฃ๐ ๐ฌ๐๐ฉ๐ ๐๐๐จ๐.
โOur dream was to convey the study of chemistry and science with as much enthusiasm as possible. It is so much easier with the right tools, technology and infrastructure,โ said Mr Langmead, Unionโs Governing Body vice-chair. โWhat we now have is a visually stimulating high-tech space, where we can place special emphasis on experimental learning, enriched by media and electronic support.โ

The space celebrates the spirit of science and chemistry, the cobalt blue, the flame of the Bunsen burner, the array of the periodic table, and the endless chains of chemical compounds.
It is geared perfectly for practical demonstration. The feedback from learners and staff has been extremely positive and all are tremendously excited about this new addition to the schoolโs campus.
