There was some fierce competition and plenty of house spirit displayed, but in the end, it was Dalyโ€™s total of 1412 points accumulated by their athletes, that secured them the win over Arnottโ€™s total of 1377.

Bell Ceremony

Known as the โ€˜Home of Cricketโ€™, Lordโ€™s Cricket Ground in England, undoubtedly, is the legendary ground and the haven of the gentlemanโ€™s game.

There is a tradition at Lordโ€™s for a distinguished visitor to ring the large silver bell outside the Bowlerโ€™s Bar of the Pavilion, five minutes before the start of play in a Test Match. This was installed to further make it a unique cricket destination.

Young Kari and Micela Stern were the first to start the tradition, by ringing the 5-minute bell just before the start of the match between Union High School, Graaff-Reinetโ€™s 1st XI and the Old Boys taking place on the Murray Field.

The bell was erected by the Old Unionite Association ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—ต๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—บ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐˜† ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—น๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ฒ ๐— ๐—ฟ ๐——๐—ฎ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ ๐—ฆ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ป, who served as chairman of the Old Unionite Association at the time of his passing, and will henceforth be known as the โ€˜David Stern Memorial Bellโ€™.
