This past week saw twelve talented Union High School, Graaff-Reinet junior tennis players showcasing their abilities over three days of intense competition at the 2023 Spar Cradock Primary Tennis Tournament held in Cradock.
๐ฝ๐ค๐ฉ๐ ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐๐๐ง๐ก๐จ’ ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐ค๐ฎ๐จ’ ๐ฉ๐๐๐ข๐จ ๐ง๐๐ฅ๐ง๐๐จ๐๐ฃ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐จ๐๐๐ค๐ค๐ก ๐๐๐ข๐๐ง๐๐๐ก๐ฎ, ๐ฌ๐๐๐ก๐ ๐๐๐๐ฃ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ซ๐๐ก๐ช๐๐๐ก๐ ๐๐ญ๐ฅ๐๐ง๐๐๐ฃ๐๐ ๐ฉ๐๐๐ฉ ๐ฌ๐๐ก๐ก ๐๐ค๐ฃ๐ฉ๐ง๐๐๐ช๐ฉ๐ ๐ฉ๐ค ๐ฉ๐๐๐๐ง ๐๐ง๐ค๐ฌ๐ฉ๐ ๐๐จ ๐ฅ๐ก๐๐ฎ๐๐ง๐จ.
The boys – consisting of ๐๐ผ๐ต๐ป-๐๐ฒ๐ป๐ฟ๐ ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด, ๐๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ป ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ฎ๐๐ต, ๐๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฎ๐ป ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ถ๐ฟ๐ฎ, ๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐บ๐๐ถ๐ฟ, ๐ง๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐๐ฎ๐ป ๐๐๐ฑ๐๐ผ๐ป and ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฑ๐ฎ๐ป ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐ – delivered a commendable performance against formidable opponents (the likes of Tjokkies, Paarl Boys and Merrifield College among other), ending 8th overall out of 12 participating teams.
The girlsโ team – consisting of ๐ ๐ถ๐ฎ ๐๐ผ๐๐ต๐ฎ, ๐ก๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ ๐ ๐๐ฟ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐, ๐๐ฎ๐๐น๐ฎ ๐ก๐ฒ๐๐๐ผ๐ป, ๐๐บ๐ฒ๐น๐ถ๐ฎ ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด, ๐๐น๐๐๐๐ฎ ๐ง๐ฟ๐ผ๐น๐น๐ถ๐ฝ, ๐ ๐ถ๐น๐ฒ๐ ๐๐๐ฟ๐ด๐ฒ๐ฟ – demonstrated their mettle by defeating Clarendon Primary, Victoria Park Primary and Cradock Primary. Despite their best efforts, the girls narrowly missed out on victories against Fichardt Park and De Aar, securing a commendable fourth-place finish out of the nine participating schools.
