Earlier this week, Union High School, Graaff-Reinet Head Boy Na’eem Mahomed and Deputy Head Boy Joshua Neill were among the numerous delegates from local institutions who attended the launch of the ‘𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁’, established by the Eastern Cape Department of Transport and heavy equipment manufacturing company, Bell Equipment, in Graaff-Reinet.
𝘞𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘶𝘳𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘶𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘪𝘮 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘦𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘱 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘴𝘬𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘴, 𝘧𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘰𝘺𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘰𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱.
At the launch, the MEC for Transport, Xolile Nqatha, praised the initiative, highlighting its impact on youth empowerment and regional development. DBNLM Acting Mayor Eunice Khunjuzwa Kekana commended the department for its economic contribution to Graaff-Reinet.
