We are excited to share that Union High School, Graaff-Reinet’s young equestrian 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻 𝗛𝗼𝗽𝗲 recently participated in the 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗱𝗲𝗯𝗼𝗼 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝗘𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝗱𝗲 in Graaff-Reinet.
This event took place over the weekend of 17 and 18 October, where Tristan not only demonstrated his passion for riding but also marked significant milestones in his equestrian journey.
On Friday, October 17, Tristan participated in an 80km Trapleer ride on his horse, SMP Bella May. This ride was particularly special as it marked Bella’s transition out of the Novice phase, allowing her to compete in future races. 𝘛𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘯 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘰𝘧 5 𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 26 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘵𝘦𝘴.
The following day, Tristan took on an even greater challenge. He rode 120km on Henarstep Willow, standing out as the only Junior rider in this grueling race, which commenced bright and early at 04:30. 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘰𝘳 𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴, 𝘛𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 120𝘬𝘮 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘰𝘧 7 𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 38 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘵𝘦𝘴.
