Union High School, Graaff-Reinetโs senior tennis players, ๐๐ผ๐๐ต ๐ก๐ฒ๐ถ๐น๐น, ๐๐ป๐ด๐๐ ๐ ๐ฐ๐๐ฎ๐ด๐ด๐ฎ๐ป, ๐ฃ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ-๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ถ๐ฒ๐น ๐๐น๐ฒ๐ด๐ด, ๐ฆ๐ผ๐ฏ๐๐ต๐น๐ฒ ๐ก๐๐ฎ๐บ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐น๐ถ, ๐ง๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฎ ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ถ๐ฟ๐ฎ, ๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ฎ๐ต-๐๐ฒ๐ถ๐ด๐ต ๐๐ผ๐ฒ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ด, ๐ ๐ถ๐๐ต๐ฎ ๐ก๐ฒ๐๐๐ผ๐ป and ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฑรฉ ๐ ๐ฎ๐, took part in the annual Marco Wasserman tennis tournament, contested in Middelburg this past weekend.
Over the course of the two days, the players competed in a Round Robin doubles and mixed doubles format in the competitionโs B-League, securing the following results:
โข vs Cradock B: 48-16
โข vs Kingswood B: 45-19
โข vs Hoรซr Volkskool B: 39-25
โข vs Middelburg B: 50-14
Despite facing tough competition, the Union learners performed exceptionally well, displaying their skills and ๐ช๐ก๐ฉ๐๐ข๐๐ฉ๐๐ก๐ฎ ๐๐ข๐๐ง๐๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐จ ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐ฌ๐๐ฃ๐ฃ๐๐ง๐จ ๐๐ฃ ๐ฉ๐๐๐๐ง ๐จ๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ค๐ฃ. They left the tournament having gained valuable insights from the experience.
As the Union High School senior tennis programme enters a rebuilding phase with nine of its top 12 players matriculating this year, the new members of the team certainly demonstrated their potential during this tournament.
