Eco-representatives
Eco-representatives are elected once a year. At the start of the year, learners are invited to submit letters of motivation to make themselves available for election. Each class is represented by at least one eco-rep.
Eco-representatives are involved in monitoring and maintaining programmes that address environmental issues concerning our school.
At present we are undertaking a survey of how to control and dispose of litter on the school campus.
Mentors
The Mentors are selected once a year. Two mentors are assigned to each class from grade 5 – 12.
Peer mentoring is a meaningful way of connecting learners and providing leadership to younger learners. The Mentors are expected to be worthy role models, to lead by example, and to provide assistance and guidance to the younger learners when necessary. The Eco-schools programme aims to create awareness and action around environmental sustainability in schools.
