Founders’ Senior Cricket Results

The 2024 Founders’ Weekend Old Boys cricket matches at Union High School were – as always – a highlight on Union’s cricketing calendar, showcasing the talent and determination of the players.

In the 1st XI match, the Old Boys scored an impressive 329 for 6 wickets.

Despite their efforts, Union’s first team could not match the Old Boys’ score and ended up falling short by 142 runs. Yonela Wana and Shaakir Kazi were standout bowlers for Union, with Union’s Xavier Barlow leading the team of batsmen in scoring with 47 runs.

The 2nd XI match saw a similar story, with the Old Boys scoring 336 runs in the first innings and Josh Neill being hailed as Union’s best bowler with 62 runs and 2 wickets. Trystan Hulleman also put up a valiant effort for Union with 27 runs off 35 balls, but ultimately, the second team was all out for 118 runs in 19.3 overs.

In the u/15 match, the Old Boys batted first and scored 205 runs, but Union’s young team showed great potential and determination as they fell just short by 20 runs. John-Henry King was Union’s top scorer in the match, displaying immense talent that shines bright for the future of the school’s cricket team.

Overall, the matches were a testament to the skill and dedication of both Union High School’s current players and their esteemed Old Boys.
